Clay soils retain moisture and moderate vine vigour, producing grapes of concentrated flavour and depth. This wine from Villa Maria's Clays Vineyard presents a pale straw colour with a rich, aromatic nose of ripe pear, stone fruit, spice, and floral notes. On the palate it is medium-bodied and textured with the characteristic pithy quality of Pinot Gris grown on clay, delivering generous flavour, good acidity, and a dry, satisfying finish.
