Valdespino El Candado is a rare and distinguished Pedro Ximenez Sherry from Valdespino — one of the oldest and most prestigious Sherry houses in Jerez, with roots dating back to 1264. El Candado (meaning 'the padlock') is named for the locks on the precious old casks in which this wine is aged. Dark as espresso with intensely concentrated flavours of raisined fig, dark chocolate, espresso, and molasses, the palate is syrupy and profoundly sweet with remarkable persistence.
